Speaker Aryal meets ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, urges to increase investment in areas of national priority

. Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Nepal, His Excellency Fahad Mohammed A. Manikh, paid a courtesy call on Speaker of the House of Honorable Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal today.

In course of the meeting, Speaker Aryal said that Nepal’s federal parliament was willing to have constructive and institutional collaboration with the Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council, adding that the Nepal-Saudi Arabia parliamentary friendship group has been formed as per the recent decision of the federal parliament.TAG_OPEN_div_26 He expressed his confidence that the group would further strengthen cooperation between parliaments of both countries on matters of mutual interest.

Expressing satisfaction over the growing cooperation between Nepal and Saudi Arabia in the field of labour migration, he said Saudi Arabia has been a major labour destination for Nepali workers.TAG_OPEN_div_24 On the occasion, Speaker Aryal shared that preparations were underway to celebrate the golden jubilee on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Saudi Arabia in March 2027.

He expressed hope that this historic occasion would be celebrated in a dignified and memorable manner through meaningful events and participatory activities reflecting the strong partnership between the two countries and our shared commitment to closer cooperation in the future.TAG_OPEN_div_22

Stating that there was ample potential for expanding economic cooperation and partnership between Nepal and Saudi Arabia, Speaker Aryal said the government was expecting more investment and cooperation from Saudi Arabia in the areas of national priority as infrastructure, information technology, energy, tourism, mines and agriculture.TAG_OPEN_div_20

He said that Nepal could become an attractive tourist destination for Saudi tourists due to Nepal’TAG_OPEN_div_18 s natural beauty, favorable climate, rich culture and hospitality of Nepalis.

On the occasion, Ambassador Manikh said that his country is always positive to further strengthen the relations between Nepal and Saudi Arabia.TAG_OPEN_div_16 He said Saudi Arabia attaches high priority to cooperation with Nepal and expressed its willingness to work in the areas of labour, trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people contacts.

Nepal established its embassy in Saudi Arabia in 1978 and Saudi Arabia in 2012.TAG_OPEN_div_14 Currently, around 384,865 Nepali nationals are working in Saudi Arabia.
