Cooking gas to be available across the country from Wednesday, how much does it cost?

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) is to sell full cylinders throughout the country from Wednesday.

The arrangement was made following a special directive from Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav.

Issuing a press release on Tuesday, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has made arrangements for selling the existing 14.2 kg cylinder in the market.

Improving supply and addressing high demand

The technical and managerial challenges seen in the supply of gas for some time have been gradually resolved. According to the NOC, the loading situation at various bottling plants and refineries of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has improved significantly.

In view of the high demand for 14.2 kg gas cylinders from the general consumers, the NOC has decided to send full-weight cylinders to the market instead of half cylinders. This decision will come into effect from Wednesday at all depots and outlets across the country.

Price remains at Rs 2,060

The corporation has also clarified the consumer price of 14.2 kg full cylinders. Now, consumers can buy LPG cylinders at Rs 2,060 (Rs 2,060) per cylinder.

The move is expected to provide a big relief to the consumers during the festive season or when demand in the market increases. The corporation has indicated to intensify monitoring to prevent shortage of cooking gas in the market and to prevent black marketing.
