Credit to private sector from banks and financial institutions increased by 6.2 percent:

Kathmandu. As of mid-June of the current fiscal year, credit from banks and financial institutions to the private sector increased by 6.2 percent or Rs 340.57 billion to Rs 5838.27 billion.

Such loans had increased by 8 percent or Rs 407.62 billion in the same period of the previous year. Loans from banks and financial institutions to the private sector have increased by 6.5 percent in mid-June.

As of mid-June 2018, the share of credit disbursed to the private sector from BFIs stood at 62.6 percent and the share of credit to the private sector was 62.6 percent, while the share of credit to the individual and household sector was 37.4 percent.

Such shares were 63 percent and 37 percent respectively in the same period of the previous year.

As of mid-June, the credit disbursed to the private sector increased by 6.3 percent by commercial banks, 5.6 percent by development banks and 3.9 percent by finance companies.

As of mid-June, the total amount of loans made by banks and financial institutions was 14.7 percent in the protection of current assets (agricultural and non-agricultural products) and 63.6 percent in the security of real estate and real estate. The share of such collateral loans stood at 14.5 percent and 65 percent respectively in mid-June last year.

In the review period, credit to construction sector increased 15.1 percent, consumer sector 13.0 percent, transport, communication and public sector 12.5 percent, industrial production sector 6.8 percent, service industry sector 4.0 percent, finance, insurance and real estate sector 0.6 percent and agriculture sector decreased 2.4 percent in the review period. ।

Trust receipt (import) loan increased by 36.7 percent, margin loan by 15.8 percent, hire purchase loan by 10.3 percent, real estate loan (including personal residential home loan) by 6.3 percent, demand and other working capital loan by 5.8 percent, term loan by 4.3 percent, cash credit loan by 0.3 percent and over-repayment loan by 0.4 percent.
