Irregularities in electronic passport printing, parliamentary committee demands detailed discussion

In today’TAG_OPEN_div_14 s meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), lawmakers stressed that the stakeholders should be called for discussion on the issues of public importance after questions were raised. At the same time, some lawmakers said that the matter should not be discussed in the court.

Lawmakers Barshaman Pun, Krantishikha Dhital, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Khusbu Oli among others put their views on the issue of passport printing in the meeting.TAG_OPEN_div_12

The lawmakers drew the attention of the bodies concerned that a complaint had been filed at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) regarding the printing of passport and that there was a problem in the issue of passport printing.TAG_OPEN_div_10

Committee Chairperson Bharat Bahadur Khadka said the committee would take a decision on what to do after the court’s verdict on the issue of printing passport as suggestions were received from the lawmakers in today’s meeting.TAG_OPEN_div_8
