Kathmandu. Bibek Mandal, who attempted self-immolation, died while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu on Friday.

Mandal, who had self-immolated in Gaudaita municipality of Sarlahi last Friday, was airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment. Mandal died while undergoing treatment at Kirtipur-based Burn Hospital this morning.

Mandal was taken to Kirtipur-based Burn Hospital at 7:30 pm on Friday and was undergoing treatment in the ICU. The 25-year-old had sustained burns on 85 percent of his body.
