Kathmandu. Lawmaker Lima Adhikari said that the Finance Secretary should not be made a director if the NRB is to be made autonomous.
She said this while discussing the Nepal Rastra Bank Act (amendment) bill in the Finance Committee meeting.
He claimed that if he appoints the finance secretary, there will be interference of the executive in the monetary policy. She suggested hiring a female director. She suggested that the NRB should be brought from outside while appointing the deputy governor of the NRB. She advised the employees to reduce the cooling for 3 years.
He claimed that some of the provisions in Section 100 (2) (A to D) of the Act and Section 18 of the BAFIA Act are wrong.
