Kathmandu. Former Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has said that raiding the houses and workplaces of industrialists and businessmen is not a big deal.

He said this through the social media Facebook today. “Raiding the homes and workplaces of entrepreneurs is not easy,” he wrote on Facebook.

In recent times, the government has been creating terror in the name of raiding the private sector indiscriminately. It has been widely criticized.

Even former minister Khanal is not happy with the government’s move.

Earlier today, the government carried out a police operation at the residence of Biratnagar-based industrialist Beni Gopal Munda. A large number of police personnel were deployed and no illegal material was found.

Acting on a special tip-off, a police team reached the Mundra residence in the morning and conducted a detailed search of the house. A large number of police personnel were deployed from the District Police Office, Morang, Ward Police Office, Biratnagar and Area Police Office, Rani. More than a dozen police vehicles were used in the operation.

The police searched the Mundra residence for about four and a half hours. However, no suspicious or illegal material has been found, police said.

Issuing a press release after the incident, the District Police Office, Morang said that the search was carried out after completing the legal process based on a special information that illegal items were concealed. “During the search, no illegal material was found,” the statement said. However, an investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
