Profit of commercial banks rises by 32.27 per cent on rise in loan recovery

Kathmandu. The commercial banks in operation have earned a profit of around Rs 70 billion as of Ashad end of the last fiscal year 2082/83.

As per the unaudited financial situation of the last fiscal year, 20 commercial banks have earned a profit of Rs 69.86 billion. The profit increased by 32.27 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 52.81 billion in the same period of the previous FY.

In the last fiscal year, the profit has increased due to the reduction in the amount allocated for loan loss along with the recovery of loans of banks. Although new loans have not increased from banks, they have emphasized on raising loans.

Out of 20 commercial banks, 15 have increased while four have declined. The profit of a bank is negative.

Nabil Bank has been the highest profit earner till the end of the last fiscal year. Nabil has earned a net profit of Rs 7.90 billion. The profit increased by 33.50 percent compared to the previous year. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 5.92 billion in the same quarter last year.

Similarly, Kumari Bank’s net profit increased by 305.95 percent to Rs 7.38 billion. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 1,7100 crore in the same quarter last year.

Global IME Bank is in the third position. Global IME Bank has earned a net profit of Rs 6.22 billion in the last FY. The bank’s net profit increased by 22.67 percent compared to Rs 5.07 billion in the previous year.

Similarly, the net profit of Everest Bank increased by 4.75 percent to Rs 5.06 billion. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 4.83 billion in the same quarter last year.

In the last fiscal year, Rastriya Banijya Bank earned a net profit of Rs 4.55 billion. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 2.83 billion in the previous fiscal year. The profit of the bank increased by 60.68 percent.

Nepal Bank’s net profit has increased by 46.20 percent to Rs 4.50 billion. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 3,070 crore in the same quarter last year.

Everest Bank has earned a net profit of Rs 5.06 billion in the last fiscal year. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 4.83 billion in the previous year. The bank’s net profit increased by 4.75 percent.

Siddhartha Bank has earned a net profit of Rs 3.51 billion in the last FY. The profit of the bank increased by 4.54 percent compared to Rs 3.36 billion in the previous year.

NMB Bank’s net profit increased by 40.60 percent. In the last fiscal year, the bank earned a profit of Rs 4.01 billion. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 2.85 billion in the previous fiscal year.

Sanima Bank earned a net profit of Rs 2.83 billion in the last FY. The profit of the bank increased by 34.66 percent from Rs 2.10 billion in the previous year.

In the last fiscal year, the bank earned a net profit of Rs 4.11 billion. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 3.20 billion in the previous fiscal year. Accordingly, the profit of the bank increased by 28.49 percent.

Citizens Bank International’s net profit has increased significantly. In the last fiscal year, the bank earned a profit of Rs 2.09 billion. The bank’s net profit increased by 63.05 percent from Rs 1.28 billion in the previous year.

Nepal SBI Bank (NSBL) has earned a net profit of Rs 2.04 billion in the last FY. The bank’s net profit increased by 12.89 percent compared to Rs 1.81 billion in the previous year.

In the last FY, the bank earned a net profit of Rs 2.11 billion. The bank’s net profit increased by 12.24 percent from Rs 1.88 billion in the previous year.

In the last fiscal year, Prabhu Bank has made a loss. The bank had posted a net loss of Rs 24.12 crore in the last FY. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 87.23 crore in the previous FY.

Himalayan Bank’s profit has increased the most. In the last fiscal year, the bank made a profit of Rs 1.48 billion. In the previous fiscal year, the bank had a net profit of Rs 12.97 crore. On this basis, the profit of the bank increased by 1,041.16 percent.

Laxmi Sunrise Bank’s net profit slumped 23.26 percent to Rs 3.11 billion. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 4.06 billion in the previous fiscal year.

Nepal Investment Mega Bank’s net profit has decreased by 36.58 percent to Rs 2.74 billion. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 4.33 billion in the previous FY.

Standard Chartered Bank’s net profit declined by 5.38 percent to Rs 2.85 billion. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 3.01 billion in the previous fiscal year.

NIC Asia Bank has a net profit of Rs 18.17 crore. In the previous FY, the bank had posted a net loss of Rs 3.87 billion.

Agricultural Development Bank’s net profit fell 29.51 percent to Rs 2.63 billion. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 3.73 billion in the previous FY.
