20-year-old Karna arrested with ‘shotgun’ looted during Genji protest

. Police have arrested a youth with a shot gun that was looted by police during last year’s Jenji agitation in Damak of Jhapa district.

The arrested is Suman Karna, 20, of Urlabari Municipality-6 of Morang who has been working at Aksh Enterprises motorcycle garage near Ratuwa Bridge in Damak Municipality-2, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranjan Awa, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Jhapa.TAG_OPEN_div_10

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Awa, the police had received a tip-off that the shot gun looted during the Jenji agitation on September 7 and 24 was hidden in Khairbari at Triveni Chowk in Damak Municipality-4.TAG_OPEN_div_8 Based on the information, the police took Karna into custody and searched the place where he was mentioned.

Police said that a shotgun was found hidden in a police mic blanket.TAG_OPEN_div_6 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Awa said that investigation was underway to find out from where the shotgun was looted and how the weapon ended up in Karna’s hands during the agitation.
