Bhotekoshi floods: Security forces mobilized for rescue and relief operations

Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) has said that security forces have been mobilized to intensify rescue and relief operations in the aftermath of the floods in the Bhotekoshi river.

Writing a status on his Facebook page, Prime Minister Shah informed that Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been mobilized for rescue and relief in the flood-affected areas. He said that additional manpower has been sent to the affected areas from other districts as well.TAG_OPEN_div_18

{{TAG_OPEN_div_16} The Disaster Management Authority has been directed to take necessary steps by coordinating with the medical team, Nepal Scout, Red Cross and other bodies. The process of sending more ambulances and health workers to the affected areas has also been initiated.

The Prime Minister said that the concerned authorities have been directed to immediately relocate the residents of the lower coastal areas to safer places. People in vulnerable areas have been informed through various means and warned to move to safer places.TAG_OPEN_div_14

All helicopters have been instructed to be kept on standby for possible rescue and relief. Prime Minister Shah said that private helicopter companies have also been informed to be ready to mobilize if needed.

A high-level meeting has been called to take further necessary decision on the flood situation. Prime Minister Shah has urged everyone to stay in a safe place and wait for the rescue update from the concerned authorities if they are unable to contact their relatives.
