Dedicated helicopter deployed to rescue workers trapped in tunnel

Kathmandu. The government has intensified the rescue of workers trapped inside the tunnel of the hydropower project. The government has mobilized a dedicated helicopter and deployed a team with necessary rescue equipment to make the rescue operation effective.

According to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the rescue operation is currently being carried out focusing on the tunnel of the Upper Trishuli A Hydropower Project. The NEA has mobilized teams with the necessary manpower, equipment and rescue materials to take out the people inside the tunnel safely.TAG_OPEN_p_4

According to the NRA, 350 people were rescued from the Upper Trishuli Project on Thursday alone. On Friday, two more people were rescued from the tunnel.TAG_OPEN_p_3

The geographical location of the incident site is complex and the rescue operation has become challenging due to adverse weather. However, the rescue team is continuously working for the safe rescue of all the people inside the tunnel.
