Kathmandu. The risk of flooding has increased after the water level in the Bhotekoshi river started rising again. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has urged all the residents of the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers and those involved in rescue and relief operations to adopt high alertness.

According to the NRA, the flow of mud has increased again on Friday in the Bhotekoshi area, which had a big flood on August 10. The Authority has urged to take precaution in view of the possibility of further floods due to the increase in the water level in the river.

Security personnel, rescue workers and other people deputed for rescue, search and relief work especially on the banks of the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers have been urged to move to safer places immediately if they face any risk of risk.

Issuing a notice on Friday, NRA spokesperson and under-secretary Shanti Mahat urged the authorities concerned to seriously address the change in the river course.

The NRA has urged the people not to stay unnecessarily in and around the risky river banks and adopt necessary precaution to be safe from the possible risks.
