Kathmandu. So far, 734 bodies have been recovered due to the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi area of Rasuwa. According to the report of the Disaster Management Authority, the bodies have reached the lower coastal districts due to the strong flow of floods.

The highest number of dead bodies were recovered in Chitwan (259). Similarly, 184 bodies were found in Nawalparasi (east), 82 in Nawalparasi (west), 58 in Gorkha, 52 in Nuwakot, 50 in Dhading, 36 in Tanahun and 13 in Rasuwa.

It has been reported that 2,498 people are still out of contact after the floods. Among those who have gone missing are 85 security personnel from various security agencies. Of them, 45 are from the Nepal Army, 27 from the Nepal Police and 13 from the Armed Police Force.

Similarly, 933 workers working in various hydropower projects have also gone missing. Among the missing are 589 foreign nationals and 127 Nepali tourism assistants who were with them.

According to the local administration, 562 people have gone missing from Rasuwa and 115 from Nuwakot.

A total of 19,895 security personnel have been deployed across the country for search, rescue and relief after the disaster. So far, 8,186 people have been rescued alive, according to the NRA.

The exact details of the loss of lives and search for the missing are still underway.
