Kathmandu. The Chinese government has provided 50 tons of emergency relief materials to Nepal. Two Y-20 large transport aircraft of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at around 7 am on Sunday.

According to the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, four Chinese tunnel rescue experts have also arrived in Nepal along with relief materials by plane. They have arrived in Nepal with the necessary rescue equipment.

Chinese relief materials were handed over to Nepal in a program held at Tribhuvan International Airport. Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chang Maoming and member of the House of Representatives Dharma KC were present on the occasion. On the occasion, they welcomed the Chinese rescue experts who came to Nepal.

Both the planes took off from Suangliu International Airport in Chengdu, China, and arrived in Kathmandu after a three-hour flight. According to the embassy, 13,200 emergency relief materials weighing 50 tons were brought on these planes.

The relief materials include tarpaulins, blankets, sleeping bags, dry food, biscuits and first-aid kits.

China has sent relief materials and teams to Nepal to assist in rescue and response to floods and landslides in different parts of the country.

The Chinese expert team will provide technical support in rescue works as per the need.
