Chitwan. Of the bodies found in Chitwan after the Bhotekoshi floods in Rasuwa, 199 unidentified bodies have been recovered. The bodies were disposed of in Devghat forest of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1 till Sunday night.

According to Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Poudel, chief of the District Police Office, 199 bodies have been recovered, while 12 have been identified.

He said that the DNA samples of the dead bodies were preserved and managed in the forest. The identified bodies were taken away by the family after the post-mortem. The DNA test has been done by placing a sign that can be given from the place kept in conjunction with the family of the missing persons.

Among the 272 bodies recovered so far, 110 are men, 62 women, seven boys, six girls and 87 others. Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been deployed for joint search and management as the bodies are being recovered from the riverbank.
