Kathmandu. The CPN-UML has announced to provide Rs 1.2 crore for the rescue and relief of the people affected by floods, landslides and inundations.

CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced this amidst a programme at the party central office at Chyasal, Lalitpur on Monday.

On the occasion, UML’s Bagmati Province Committee and Capital Special Province Committee handed over a cheque of Rs 1 million each to Oli for disaster management.

Receiving the assistance, Chairman Oli said that the party would mobilize funds from the central level for the rescue and relief of the disaster-affected people. He said that at least Rs 12.0 million would be collected from the party’s initiative and necessary support would be provided to the disaster-affected areas.

The UML has said that various levels and cadres of the party would also be made active to mobilize necessary support for rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by floods, landslides and inundations.
