Floods cause damages worth Rs 387 billion

{{TAG_OPEN_div_8} Kathmandu. The government has estimated that the floods caused by the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on August 24 have caused a loss of around Rs 400 billion.

In a regular briefing organized by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) here today, Chief Executive Officer of the NRA, Dr Dharma Raj Upreti, said that the loss was estimated at Rs 387.54 billion. Further details are awaited, he said.TAG_OPEN_div_6

He also said that 7.TAG_OPEN_div_4 95 billion would be required for the initial rehabilitation of various sectors in the four months. “The amount is estimated to be spent on the rehabilitation of buildings, settlements, communication, health, nutrition, education, agriculture, livestock and energy,” he said.
