Bhotekoshi floods: Govt to repair 20 suspension bridges

Kathmandu. The government is on a war footing to repair 20 suspension bridges damaged by the floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district.

The floods on August 26 had damaged 53 of the 64 suspension bridges from Mugling to Timure.

Government officials had concluded that 20 of the 53 damaged suspension bridges needed to be repaired.

The government had issued a work order on September 1 for the repair of these bridges. Among them, progress has been made in the repair of Mahesh Dovan-Master, Kalikathan, Malinga-Majhuwatar, Keureni-Gahate and Pimaltar-Jagram Khola suspension bridges.

The government claims that the repair of these 5 suspension bridges will be completed within a month.

The government has already called for tender for reconstruction of 33 suspension bridges on September 3.
