KATHMANDU: Two persons have been rescued alive from the tunnel of the flood-hit Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project.

According to RSP lawmaker Shreeram Neupane, the rescue team also rescued Sanjay Sah and another person trapped inside the tunnel. Further details about the health condition of the two rescued are awaited.

According to him, the search and rescue operation has been intensified as there are information that there may be more people inside the tunnel. Teams of Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and concerned agencies have been deployed for the rescue.

The rescue of two people alive from inside the tunnel has raised hopes at a time when there is growing concern about the condition of those who went missing after the floods. Search and rescue operations are underway for other people inside the tunnel.
