Kathmandu. The ‘Dr. Harihardev Pant Economic Journalism Award’, instituted in memory of Dr. Harihardev Panta, the father of microfinance in Nepal, has been presented to Ashish Gyawali, editor of Nivesh News.

The award was presented to editor Gyawali amidst a programme organized to mark the 11th memorial day of Dr Harihardev Panta on Sunday.

The award instituted by Pant Foundation was provided on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the Pant Memorial Day.

The award carries a purse of Rs 1 lakh.

Editor Gyawali has donated Rs 25,000 from the prize money he received to Kiran Adhikari of Nuwakot. Gyawali has donated the amount to Adhikari who was affected by the floods in Bhotekoshi.
