Dhading. Police have arrested a man from Dhading on the charge of finding jewelry swept away by the flooded Bhotekoshi-Trishuli River without informing the concerned person.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Dahal, Spokesperson and Information Officer of District Police Office, Dhading, Ram Bahadur Tamang, 35, of Gajuri Rural Municipality-6, Banchhetar, was taken under control with jewelry.
On August 26, the flood in the Trishuli River via Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa had swept away the house of Leela Bahadur Bogati of Trishuli Bazaar of Bidur Municipality-1 in Nuwakot. Bogati had informed the police after getting information from other people that Tamang had found the ornaments on August 26 and kept them in his house without informing anyone.
After this, a police team deputed from the temporary police post Adamghat arrested Tamang. The police have seized three pieces of yellow metal earrings, two earrings, two chains, two rings, two mangalsutra with red embroidery and two pairs of white metal anklets that look like silver.
According to the District Police Office, Dhading, further investigation into the theft case is underway from the Area Police Office, Gajuri.
