Bharat TAG_OPEN_div_32 Bahadur KC, Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development of the province and spokesperson of the provincial government, said that the process is being forwarded according to the concept of transferring the risk of government buildings through insurance. According to him, the necessary procedures will be prepared by incorporating the details, evaluation and potential risks of government buildings under the province.

TAG_OPEN_div_30″We have forwarded the process with the thinking that risk transfer of all our government buildings should be handed over i.e. the buildings should be brought under the ambit of insurance,” Minister KC said, adding, “We are preparing to take a decision after presenting the issue in the next cabinet meeting.” ”

TAG_OPEN_div_28 He said that Nepal is at risk of natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, landslides and so insurance is necessary for the protection of government property. He said that although the government structures were damaged due to disasters in the past, they could not get compensation due to lack of insurance.

TAG_OPEN_div_26 According to Minister KC, the form of insurance will be determined to cover the risks of earthquake, flood and landslide. He said that the province has data related to government buildings and the process of insurance will be started on the basis of the price of the building and the potential risks.

TAG_OPEN_div_24 However, no budget has been allocated under a separate heading for the insurance of government buildings in the current fiscal year. Minister KC said that the necessary amount can be managed from the budget allocated for disaster management.

} “There is no separate budget for this, but there is budget for disaster management,” he said, “Risk transfer of government property is now a compulsorily issue.” ”

TAG_OPEN_div_20 The state government is also preparing to regulate the insurance renewal of government vehicles. Minister KC said that there is a tendency to not renew the insurance of government vehicles on time in some cases.

While the federal government is silent on insuring government structures, the provincial government is preparing to teach a lesson to the federal government.TAG_OPEN_div_18
