Mustang. Prime Minister Balendra Shah has said that he will call for global cooperation and cooperation in the field of disaster mitigation and management caused by climate change.

In a message sent on the sidelines of the ‘Gharpajhong Climate Conference’ organized in Mustang, Prime Minister Shah expressed his commitment to draw the attention of the world to address the issues related to mitigation and management of climate change effects as it was a common responsibility of the world community.

In a message of best wishes, Prime Minister Shah expressed his commitment to draw the attention of the world community towards the problems, damage and solutions to the problems Nepal was facing due to climate change at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The PM also urged the national and international community to draw the attention of the national and international community towards serious impacts of climate change in mountainous, hilly and Tarai areas of Nepal.

“Our mountains will melt, glaciers will break, glaciers will burst, glaciers will burst, the flow of glaciers will increase, water sources will dry up and there will be unexpected changes in weather due to global warming,” the message reads.

Expressing happiness over the organization of the ‘Gharpajhong Climate Summit’ in Jomsom of the mountainous district of Mustang, Prime Minister Balendra Shah stressed the need of strong collaboration among the federal, state and local governments to tackle the impact of climate change.

Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Gita Chaudhary inaugurated the two-day conference organized by the local Gharpajhong Rural Municipality today. The conference is being attended by the chiefs of most of the rural municipalities and municipalities and the heads of the District Coordination Committee.

The conference has been viewed with significance as the flood caused by the avalanche in the Trishuli River via Bhotekoshi has caused irreparable loss of life and property and extensive preparations are underway with the Prime Minister’s address to the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
