Remittances rise by 21.2 per cent to Rs 215 billion in July

Kathmandu. In the first month of the current fiscal year 2083/84, remittances to Nepal have increased by 21.2 percent. According to the Nepal Rastra Bank, remittances amounted to Rs 215.5 billion in July.

The remittance inflow had increased by 29.9 percent in the same period of the previous fiscal year. In the review period, the remittance inflow increased by 10.2 percent to 1.4 billion in US dollars. The remittance inflow had increased by 25 percent in dollar terms in the same period of the previous year.

Net secondary income (net transfer) has also increased during this period. According to the Rastra Bank, the net secondary income reached Rs 229.98 billion in July. Such income was Rs 193.85 billion in the same period of the previous year.

Similarly, the number of Nepalis who have taken final labour permit (institutional and personal new) for foreign employment during the review period is 42,693. This number was 44,466 in the previous year.

The number of Nepalis taking re-labour permit has increased to 27,748. The number of Nepalis taking re-labour permit was 23,644 in the same period last year.
