Kathmandu. In course of implementing the report of the High Level Commission on Investigation and Protection of Government and Public Land (Rawal Commission), 1992, 112 ropanis of land in Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 4 has been transferred to the name of the Government of Nepal.

As per the Rawal Commission’s decision, the Land Administration Office, Dilli Bazaar, has transferred 112 ropanis of land in Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 4 to the government as per the Rawal Commission’s report.

The report implementation committee formed by the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has started the task of subtracting the encroached land from the plots that were mentioned as encroached upon on the basis of the report and bringing it to the name of the government.

A committee has been formed under the coordination of Chief Survey Officer Ramesh Gyawali for the implementation of the report. The committee consists of the under-secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, the chief of the concerned Land Administration and Survey Office, the chief of the local level coordination section, the section officer of the Department of Land Management and Archive and the survey officer of the Survey Department.

The Rawal Commission had studied the condition of government and public land in 2052 BS and submitted a report with suggestions to protect the government and public land that was encroached upon and registered in the name of individuals. The ministry implemented the same report after a long time and started the work of bringing government and public land in the name of the government. The government has already started the work of scrutinizing all the land pointed out by the Rawal Commission and bringing it in the name of the government.
