Kathmandu. Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr. Bishwanath Poudel has urged the directors and account supervisors of commercial banks to find new ways to invest loans and to solve the problems seen in the banking sector.
Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr. Poudel, Deputy Governor Kiran Pandit, Executive Directors of Nepal Rastra Bank and directors and account supervisors of commercial banks held discussions at Yak and Yeti Hotel in Kathmandu on Friday.
In the meeting, it was emphasized that in order to overcome the challenges seen in the banking sector, it was emphasized that the strategy of loan investment should be modified according to the changing economic situation and not only on the traditional working style. The NRB was of the view that there is a need to be more active in identifying new possibilities of investment and solving the existing problems in the banking sector by making the flow of credit effective.
Issues related to making the functioning of banks and financial institutions more effective, exploring alternative ways of loan investment and strengthening risk management were also raised during the discussion. It has been emphasized that regular discussions and coordination among the concerned parties are necessary to identify the problems seen in the banking sector and find practical solutions to them.
