Kathmandu. Yemen’s Houthi rebels have warned airlines and passengers not to use Saudi Arabia’s airports and airspace. The Houthi group has issued this warning after the deadly attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
On Saturday, 12 people were killed and more than 300 injured in the attack on King Khalid International Airport. According to the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority, citizens of various countries were killed in the attack.
The dead included four Saudi nationals, two Bangladeshis, and one each from the US, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan and Egypt.
Earlier in a statement on Sunday, the Houthi group claimed responsibility for other attacks at the same airport on Thursday. However, the group did not directly mention Saturday’s deadly attack.
The attack on the airport and the subsequent warnings have raised further concerns about Saudi Arabia’s air security. The Houthi group’s warning could raise concerns about the safety of airlines and passengers using Saudi airspace.
