New York. American billionaire businessman Elon Musk has announced that he will gift a share of his rocket manufacturing company SpaceX to every child in America. US President Donald Trump has welcomed Musk’s announcement and thanked him for his generous move to invest in children’s futures.

Musk announced on October 19 that he would give SpaceX shares to every child in the United States next year. However, he did not provide details about the process of distributing shares, the eligibility of the beneficiaries and the implementation timetable.

Trump wrote on X and thanked Musk. He said that the announcement of giving SpaceX shares to millions of American children through ‘Trump Accounts’ is in line with the purpose of investing in the future of children.

According to Trump, children are America’s most important asset. He said that the vision of the Trump Accounts is to bring together private sector entrepreneurs and invest in children and make them part of the ‘American Dream’.

According to the available data, the price of one share of SpaceX is $ 146 i.e. about 14,000 rupees. Based on the estimate that there are about 72 million children in the United States, the total value of each share is about $ 10.51 billion.

In Nepalese rupees, this amount is about 1 trillion 47 billion rupees, which is about 1.5 trillion rupees. However, this calculation is an estimate based on one share per person and the stated price. The actual value of the shares and the total value may vary depending on the terms of distribution.

Neither Musk nor SpaceX have released a detailed plan on how to deliver the shares to millions of children, what accounts will be opened and who will pay for the distribution.

Announcement before midterm elections raises political interest

The mid-term elections will be held in the United States on November 3. Musk’s announcement of a huge economic price before the election is also being viewed with interest from a political point of view.

Reports have come to light that Musk has spent a large amount of money to help the Republican Party. In such a situation, the announcement of giving SpaceX shares to children has also increased the discussion about the relationship between the Trump administration and Musk. However, there is no evidence in the public accounts to prove that the announcement was made with the intention of gaining political advantage in the election.

Meanwhile, SpaceX President Gwyn Shotwell and her husband have pledged to give SpaceX shares to more than 2 million children.

Trump accounts also have a thousand dollars

The Trump administration has also introduced a scheme called ‘Trump Accounts’ for the future of children. Under this scheme, the government will deposit a lump sum of one thousand US dollars into the accounts of children who meet the prescribed conditions.

As per the provisions of the scheme, eligible children born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028 will be eligible for the benefit.

This plan is being linked to Musk’s announcement. However, it is yet to be clarified whether the government program to deposit money into Trump accounts and the distribution of SpaceX shares are the same plan or separate arrangements.

Who gets shares?

Musk has said “every child in America” but has not revealed clear criteria for beneficiaries. This raises some important questions.

First, it’s unclear whether only children with U.S. citizenship will be eligible for shares or whether other children living in the U.S. will also be included.

Second, it is not clear whether there will be an age limit for receiving shares, or whether all children from newborns to those under the age of 18 will be eligible.

Third, it is not clear what documents parents will have to submit to verify the identity of their children and what the application process will be.

Unless there are clear criteria on these issues, it will be difficult to determine the exact extent of the distribution and the number of beneficiaries.

When can children sell shares?

With the announcement of the share distribution, questions have also been raised about its ownership and transactions. In the United States, a custodial account usually managed by a parent or guardian can be used to hold shares in the name of children under the age of 18.

However, it is not clear whether the shares announced by Musk will be distributed through this arrangement or a separate structure will be created.

SpaceX also did not say who would manage the shares that would be placed in the children’s names until they reached adulthood, when the shares could be sold or transferred to another person.

According to the public filing, the regulatory filing as of June 30, 2026, states that Musk owns 48.4 percent of SpaceX. According to the valuation based on the statement, his stake is valued at about $860 billion (about Rs 80 lakh crore).

Musk has said that the announcement of the share to children is the first of the upcoming plans. This indicates that he may announce more programs in the future. However, he has not revealed anything about the nature of the upcoming plan and the date of the announcement.

Space space replaced by reusable rockets

Musk founded SpaceX in 2002. The company has played an important role in reducing the cost of satellite launches and space missions through the development of reusable rocket technology.

On May 30, 2020, SpaceX launched a historic mission carrying astronauts from the Crew Dragon. In that mission, Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley went to space. They reached space on May 31.

Musk’s announcement to transfer ownership of SpaceX, which is established as a company that runs space missions from the private sector, to ordinary children, has created a new debate in the company’s share distribution, children’s long-term investments, and in the US political circles. However, the necessary procedures and conditions to turn the announcement into an actual distribution are yet to be made public. With the help of various news organizations
