Former employees of Rastriya Banijya Bank donate Rs 16 lakh to Bhotekoshi flood victims

Kathmandu. Retired employees of Rastriya Banijya Bank have donated Rs 15,74,547 for the relief and rehabilitation of the families affected by the Bhotekoshi floods in Rasuwa.

The office bearers of the association handed over a cheque to Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha on Wednesday to deposit the amount collected at the initiative of the Rawa Bank Ex-Employees Association in the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. More than 3,000 retired employees of the Rastriya Banijya Bank are associated with the association.

On the occasion of handing over the cheques, Minister Shrestha expressed gratitude for the support and solidarity shown by the former employees during the disaster. He said that the support received from the civil society level has further encouraged the government to deal with the disaster.

Minister Shrestha said that the amount collected from the contribution of thousands of members of the association would help in providing relief to the families affected by the floods. He said that such initiatives would play an important role in boosting social unity and morale along with financial support during disasters.

Minister Shrestha said that the former employees’ association has also been contributing to improving social psychology and promoting fiscal good governance.
