Kathmandu. Police have arrested former Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR from his private residence.

He was arrested from his private residence in Maharajgunj, police said. A complaint has been lodged against him at the Valley Crime Investigation Office. However, the reason has not been disclosed.

He became the Chief Justice from January 18, 2018. He was suspended after the impeachment motion was registered in the parliament on February 1, 2021.
