Kathmandu. Prakash Pathak has said that it is a serious matter that the personal details of Nepali citizens have been made public on the dark web.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, lawmaker Pathak said sensitive information related to Nepal was leaked in the dark web some time ago and this issue should be investigated seriously.
According to him, the login details of thousands of customers and employees of Nepal’s commercial banks have also been found to be in an insecure state. He said that the leakage of the login details of the bank’s customers and employees has raised serious questions on the cyber security of the banking system.
“Some time ago, a description related to Nepal was made public on the dark web. The login details of thousands of customers and employees of Nepal’s commercial banks were found to be unsafe,” he said.
Pathak said that such incidents have raised questions about how secure the internal information systems and cyber security systems of the banks are.
