Kathmandu. With the opening of a temporary track on the flood-damaged Galchhi-Vetrawati road section in Rasuwa, the work of connecting a bailey bridge in Vetrawati has begun.
According to Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal, along with the opening of the temporary track, the construction of the foundation required for the construction of the bailey bridge was also started. Currently, the construction of foundations on both sides of the bailey bridge has been completed.
Minister Lamsal said that the work of transporting the materials for the construction of the bailey bridge to the construction site has been expedited after the temporary track came into operation. The work of supplying the necessary materials to the construction site is underway and the process of connecting the bailey bridge has been initiated.
After the completion of the Bailey Bridge connection, the main road network with Rasuwa, which was disrupted due to floods, will be reconnected. With this, the traffic movement towards Rasuwa will be eased and the road connectivity affected by the floods will be restored.
Minister Lamsal said that works have been forwarded simultaneously for the construction of temporary track for the immediate operation of vehicular movement along the flood-damaged road section and rehabilitation of road infrastructure in a long-term manner.
