Compulsory insurance of government structures

Kathmandu. Lawmakers have demanded mandatory insurance of government structures, saying that climate disasters have caused huge damage in Nepal time and again.

During the special hour of today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Deepak Raj Bohara said that a large number of human and physical structures have been damaged due to the disasters like floods and landslides that occurred at different times. He drew the attention of the government to make it mandatory as a huge budget is required for search, rescue, relief and reconstruction.TAG_OPEN_div_65

} “It has been seen that the government structures are still not insured,” he said, adding, “It is necessary to create an environment for compulsorily insuring the structures as a huge amount of money will be required for the reconstruction after any disaster.”
