{{TAG_OPEN_div_24}Kathmandu. With the beginning of the filing of candidacy for the election of a new leadership for the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, the Election Committee has clarified the necessary documents and process for verification of candidacy.
These documents are mandatory for registering candidacy for the Nepali Congress General Convention.
Candidates who wish to file candidacy will have to fill out the candidacy form according to the post they wish to file their candidacy. The form has a provision to include a proposer and seconder from among the delegates assigned to the respective posts. The candidate himself will not be allowed to be a proposer or supporter for the post in which he or she is a candidate.
During the registration of candidacy, the bank voucher or receipt paid for the concerned post must also be attached. The election committee has said that the name of the candidate should be clearly mentioned in the bank voucher.
Similarly, the candidate will also have to carry a copy of the certificate of being elected as a general convention delegate and an official identity card issued by the Government of Nepal. Candidates contesting from the inclusive cluster will also have to submit a copy of the certificate proving that they belong to the respective cluster.
During the verification of candidacy, a recommendation regarding the continuity of active membership of the candidate will also be required. The relevant recommendation to prove the continuity of active membership should be submitted along with the candidacy form.
{{TAG_OPEN_div_14} The Election Committee will verify whether the form, proposer-supporter, fee voucher, convention delegate certificate, official identity card, cluster certificate and recommendation for continuity of active membership have been completed in the process of registration of candidacy.
