Kanchanpur. The Sudurpaschim state government is going to construct a trekking route in badimalika with the help of Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Spokesperson at the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, Bharat Prasad Shrestha, said that the state government is going to build infrastructure for the convenience of tourists at Badimalika, a famous religious and tourist destination in the far-western region. According to him, the state government is constructing the trekking route connecting Badimalika and Khaptad as per the agreement with THE ADB.
Spokesperson Shrestha said that the state government has laid emphasis on religious tourism and tourism infrastructure would be constructed with the assistance of Rs 220 million from the Asian Development Bank. “A budget of Rs 70 million has been allocated in the current fiscal year for the construction of the trekking route connecting Badimalika and Khaptad,” he said. ’
Spokesperson Shrestha said that the state government has made arrangements for hotel entrepreneurs, homestay promotion and training of tourist guides for the promotion of tourism. According to him, help desks are in operation at Gaddachauki checkpoint and Gauriphanta checkpoint in Kanchanpur for the convenience of tourists.
“The state government is working with priority for the development of tourism destinations here,” he said, adding, “A budget of Rs 7 million has been allocated for upgrading the airport of Tikapur this year. ’
Ministry spokesperson Shrestha said that the state government is going to develop nature-based tourism. According to him, badimalika, the religious and tourist area of Bajura, which is considered as a heaven, has become the best destination for tourists and devotees.
