Installation of equipment at waste treatment centre

Damauli. Shuklagandaki Municipality, Shuklagandaki-5, Kaseri has started installing modern machinery equipment for waste treatment. The municipality, which has been facing problems in waste management for a long time, has started installing modern equipment.

Deputy Mayor of Shuklagandaki Municipality Khum Bahadur BK said that a tripartite agreement has been signed between Shuklagandaki Municipality, Green Road and Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. With the investment of Surya Nepal, various waste treatment equipment has been brought along with the construction of additional infrastructure.

BK said preparations have been made to bring the garbage treatment plant into operation by September. “Once the processing centre comes into operation, there will be no garbage like it is now,” he said. The waste will be collected from home in collaboration with the Toll Development Organization. ’

Shuklagandaki Municipality, Green Road and Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. had signed a tripartite agreement for waste management on May 15. After the agreement, the construction of 11 different units in Kaseri is going on in full swing. ‘Vermy Compost Pit’, ‘Organic Waste Open Trust’, ‘Disposal Waste Open Trust’, ‘Plating Process Center’, ‘Precessing Area’, ‘Acting Process Center’, Electric House, Toilet, Kitchen, Canteen Hall, Office and Security House are being constructed.

A tripartite agreement has been signed for waste management for a period of 10 years. As per the agreement, Surya Nepal has invested Rs 20.4 million in Shuklagandaki. Along with the construction of infrastructure, various waste management equipment will be purchased and installed. Shuklagandaki has given the responsibility of waste management to Green Road.

Bhim Subedi, an engineer at the Forest, Environment and Waste Management Section of Shuklagandaki Municipality, said that the waste processing work would start from September. Shuklagandaki Municipality has set up a trust for garbage collection in Kaseri from the budget for the fiscal year 2074/75 BS. A total of Rs 2,470,851 has been spent for the construction of the trust. Similarly, rs 5,259,053 was spent on the construction of compounds and trusts in 2080-81.

In the fiscal year 2075/76 BS, Rs 5.2 million was spent to upgrade the road leading to the garbage collection center, while in the last fiscal year, the embankment was constructed at an investment of around Rs 4.5 million after the Seti River cut the waste management center.

Shuklagandaki Municipality has been dumping the waste collected from the market area on the banks of the Seti River. Mayor Krishna Raj Pandit said that it would be easier to manage the waste once the centre comes into operation.
