Kathmandu. Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is preparing to operate direct flights from Kathmandu to Dhaka of Bangladesh in the near future.
The corporation has said that necessary preparations have been made and necessary works are being carried out by forming a feasibility study sub-committee for the same. Despite being a neighbouring country, Nepali aircraft was not able to take off from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Director of NAC’s operation department and senior captain Subash Rijal said that necessary process has been forwarded keeping this need in mind.
Regular flights are currently being operated from Bangladesh to Kathmandu. Nepal’s private carrier Himalayan Airlines also operates flights to Dhaka. However, the flight of the national flag carrier has not yet taken place. According to the NAC, the flight will be determined on the basis of the report of the study committee.
Similarly, the corporation has further expanded its Kathmandu-Delhi-Kathmandu air service. Currently, NAC has added three more flights a week to that route from March 31. Now, there are 10 flights a week between Kathmandu-Delhi.
A Cargo Management System Study Taskforce has been formed to further strengthen and make the cargo business more productive.
