Kathmandu. The stock market has seen a slight improvement. The index that measures the market increased by 6.94 points to close at 2,718.16.

Today, 6,684,07 units of shares of 334 companies were traded for Rs 2.93 billion in 45,065 trades. This is the lowest transaction amount in almost 2 years.

Banking sub-index increased 0.33 per cent, development bank 0.29, hotel and tourism 0.20, life insurance 0.30, microfinance 0.35 per cent, business 1.57 per cent and other sub-indices 0.83 per cent. The sub-index of all other groups has decreased.

Shares of finance sector saw a decline of 0.08 per cent, investment 0.07, production and processing 0.08 per cent, mutual funds 0.16 per cent and non-life insurance 0.56 per cent.

NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) made the highest turnover of Rs 17,68,33,369 today. On the basis of the number of traded shares, the highest number of 526,682 units of shares of National Hydropower Company Limited were traded, according to NEPSE.
