Kathmandu. According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 743 tourists have been affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha, out of which 121 have been rescued and 622 are still missing.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Tourism Board, Tourist Police and the stakeholders are jointly collecting information about the condition of tourists and passengers in the flood-affected areas and the tourism sector, said Nepal Tourism Board.

According to the board, the largest number of flood-affected tourists are Indian tourists. Of the 183 tourists from India, 85 have been rescued and 98 are still uncontacted. Of the 149 affected people in Nepal, all are out of contact.

Similarly, out of 67 people from the United States, 2 have been rescued and 65 are uncontacted. There are also 61 people from Ukraine, 51 from Malaysia and 35 from Australia, according to the board’s country data.

Of the 24 people from China, 16 have been rescued and 8 are uncontacted. All 9 people from South Korea have been rescued. 2 out of 9 people from Russia and 2 out of 3 people from Italy have been rescued. 1 out of 3 people from Belgium, 1 from Bulgaria, 1 from Portugal, 1 from Spain and 1 from 2 from Switzerland have been rescued.

According to the country-wise data, 25 are from Canada, 29 from Latvia, 33 from the UK, 8 from Germany, 4 from France, 5 from Japan, 5 from New Zealand, 9 from Singapore, 6 from South Africa, 3 from Kazakhstan, 1 from Sweden, 1 from Finland, 1 from Hungary, 2 from Ireland, 1 from Israel, 1 from Lithuania, 2 from the Netherlands, 1 from the Philippines, 1 from Serbia and 1 from Vietnam.
