Two rescued from tunnel of Trishuli-3 ‘A’, one in critical condition

Kathmandu. Two people trapped inside the tunnel of the Trishuli-3 ‘A’ hydropower project have been rescued after a massive flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa. The condition of one of the rescued is normal while the condition of another is critical.

Kabir Maharjan, who was in a critical condition, was immediately taken to Birendra Military Hospital in Chhauni, Kathmandu. He has been admitted to the hospital and is undergoing intensive care.

The condition of Sanjay Sah, who was initially rescued, is said to be normal. Although his health condition is stable, preparations are being made to bring him to Birendra Military Hospital, Chhauni for further health check-up.

A joint team of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and other experts led by Nepal Army had launched a rescue operation inside the tunnel of the project this morning.

Security personnel and rescue teams have been carrying out search and rescue efforts since the flood occurred after suspecting that people were trapped inside the project. After continuous efforts, two people inside the tunnel were rescued.

After the rescue, both of them were taken to hospital for necessary health treatment and check-up.
