eSewa offers ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ service for the first time, digital loan up to Rs 2 lakh on scooter purchase

Kathmandu. Nepal’s leading payment provider company eSewa has launched the ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ service for the first time in the digital wallet sector in Nepal. Under this service, customers will now be able to buy electric scooters of the Gyro brand through the eSewa platform.

A tripartite partnership agreement was signed between eSewa, Reliance Finance Limited and Parimita Investment Pvt. Ltd., an electric scooter vendor, in a program organized at the central office of eSewa on September 22. The agreement was signed by former CEO of eSewa Jagdish Khadka, Deputy CEO of Reliance Finance Ramhari Acharya and Manan Tuladhar on behalf of Parimita Investment Pvt. Ltd.

Under this partnership, customers will be able to avail BNPL facility through the eSewa platform for the purchase of electric scooters from Paramita. Reliance Finance will provide loans as a financial partner under this facility while Parimita will provide electric scooters.

Easy digital process with installment facility

Under this service, customers will be able to get financial facilities for the purchase of electric scooters through easy and digital means. Customers will be able to complete the entire process from the eSewa app and avail the facility.

Under this scheme, Reliance Finance will provide a digital loan of up to Rs 9.9 lakh to customers for the purchase of electric scooters. It will provide a digital loan of up to Rs 2 lakh at an interest rate of 99 percent. Customers will be able to repay the loan in easy installments up to a maximum of 36 months. This will provide customers with the option to pay in installments as per their requirement, making it easier for them to pay a large amount in one go.

Promotion of Digital Financial Services and Electric Transportation

eSewa has been developing various innovative solutions to meet the day-to-day needs of its customers by further easing access to financial services through digital technology. This service is also a continuation of this effort to provide financial services to customers through digital means.

The partnership is also expected to promote the use of eco-friendly transportation to facilitate the purchase of electric scooters.
