Kathmandu. Hathway Investment Nepal Limited has circulated a fake letter regarding the sale of 15 lakh units of shares by misusing the name, letterhead, seal and signature of the company secretary.
The letter, which was circulated on social media and some media outlets, stated that the company’s shareholder Ambika Prasad Poudel had informed the company that it intends to sell 15 lakh units of shares within the next three months.
The company has clarified that it has not issued the letter and has not received any application or information regarding the sale of shares from Poudel. According to the company, the letterhead, invoice number, seal and signature of the company secretary were also misused without approval.
The company has said that it will make public the actual sale information through NEPSE’s official information system and its website.
The company has said that it has started the process of filing a complaint with the Securities Board of Nepal and NEPSE against the person or group preparing and disseminating the fake letter. It has also urged the shareholders and investors not to make investment decisions on the basis of unsubstantiated information.
