The government has appointed Rajan Bikram Thapa as the chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA).

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday appointed Thapa to the post based on the recommendation of the selection committee formed by the Ministry of Finance.

Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle administered the oath of office and secrecy to Thapa amidst a programme organized at the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.

After taking oath of office and secrecy, Finance Minister Dr Wagle directed the newly-appointed chairman Thapa to work fearlessly and confidently for the credit enhancement of the insurance sector.
