Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: President of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Mahesh Kumar Shrestha organized a special interaction program with NRNA activists from Africa through virtual medium. The program has been organized through Zoom with the objective of spreading the happiness and message of the newly established unity within the association.
Speaking at the program, Chairman Shrestha said that the campaign was in trouble due to the dispute and division seen in the union since the past few years. He, however, expressed the belief that the NRNA would return to its previous form and activism once the institutional unity has been completed.
President Shrestha urged the NRNA campaigners in the Africa region to forget the bittersweet things of the past and unite and work again. “We have become stronger after the unification and I make a special request to all of you to take the association to its previous position and height in the African region,” he said.
The program was attended by a large number of NRN representatives from different countries of Africa. Honorary Consul of Kenya to Nepal, Chandra Tandon, NRNA Spokesperson Gangadhar Gautam and advisor Hikmat Thapa also put their views on the occasion.
Similarly, Africa Regional Coordinator Krishna Dutta Bhatta (Kenya), Women Regional Coordinator Dr Sarita Pandey Bhattarai (South Africa) and Regional Joint Coordinators Chhabi Shrestha (Seychelles) and Bikash Subedi (Ghana) were also present in the meeting.
Regional Women Joint Coordinator Shanti Subedi (Botswana), Regional Youth Coordinator Bharat Rijal (Nigeria), Deputy Coordinator Santosh Udas (Tanzania) and NCC South Africa President Dr. Shanti Subedi (Botswana) were present on the occasion. Mr. Pushpa Bhattarai, Vice President of NCC Kenya, Mr. Bharat Regmi, and honorary council members of the International Committee, Mr. Man Thapa (Nigeria) and Mr. Ramesh Sharma (Rwanda) were also present on the occasion.
The participants welcomed President Shrestha’s message of unity and expressed their commitment to further strengthen the NRNA campaign in the Africa region.
