Kathmandu. The life insurance company has done business worth Rs 181 billion in the last fiscal year. According to nepal insurance authority, insurance companies have collected insurance fees worth Rs 181.43 billion in the last fiscal year.

One-fourth of the total life insurance market is still in Nepal Life’s pocket. Nepal Life alone has collected 26.48 percent of the total insurance premium collected. Nepal Life alone has collected insurance premium of Rs 48.38 billion.

Nepal Life is also ahead in expanding new business. Nepal Life alone has collected rs 10.49 billion in first insurance premium out of the total rs 40.17 billion new life insurance business added. National Life and Life Insurance Corporation are competing for the second position after Nepal Life. National Life accounts for 12.36 per cent of the total life insurance market while Life Insurance Corporation accounts for 10.98 per cent.

Himalayan Life has 9.73 percent stake, Suryajyoti Life 6.17 percent, Asian Life 5.65 percent and National Life Insurance Company 5.43 percent. Citizen Life, Sanima Reliance Insurance, Met Life, IME Life, Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Reliable Nepal Life and Sun Nepal Life accounted for less than 5 per cent of the total insurance premium collection.
