Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Bangladeshi Ambassador to Nepal Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman has said that Nepal-Bangladesh economic cooperation has immense potential.
According to him, there is huge potential for Nepal-Bangladesh economic cooperation in agriculture processing, energy, medicine, tourism, information technology, frozen fish and seafood.
He said this while interacting with Nepali businessmen and Bangladeshi exhibitors participating in the South Asia Trade Fair 2026 in Kathmandu.
Ambassador Rahman said the use of land ports like Banglabandha and expansion of regional connectivity have helped ease trade between the two countries. “The embassy is always ready to provide necessary support to the business persons of both the countries,” he said.
Stating that Bangladesh has been established as the most competitive production and export hub of Asia, he said notable progress has been made in readymade garments, jute and jute products, pharmaceuticals, leather goods, garment industry among others.
The event was attended by eminent businessmen, industrialists, investors, policy makers, diplomats, representatives of FNCCI, NCC and NFTA.
A total of 24 business and business organizations from Bangladesh are participating in the South Asia Trade Fair 2026. They are displaying export-oriented products including readymade garments, handicrafts, jute and jute products.
