Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Federal Republic of Germany (FBER) has pledged to further strengthen its development partnership with Nepal and pledged to provide technical and financial assistance worth 37.6 million Euros for the next two years.
The amount was announced during bilateral talks on Nepal-Germany development cooperation held here on Tuesday. Both sides agreed to prioritize energy, sustainable economic development and health as the major priorities of their collaboration, according to the German Embassy in Kathmandu.
Dhaniram Sharma, Chief of International Economic Cooperation Coordination Division at the Ministry of Finance led the Nepali delegation and Barbara Schafer, Chief of South Asia Division at the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), led the German delegation in the talks.
The assistance will be used for renewable energy and energy efficiency promotion, strengthening electricity distribution systems, green and resilient agriculture development, revenue sector reform, quality infrastructure, gender equality, sustainable economic development and expanding access to finance.
