Kavrepalanchowk. The BP Highway, which was blocked for the past four days due to floods and landslides triggered by incessant rains, has been brought into operation.

According to the Division Road Office, Bhaktapur, the vehicular movement has been resumed since this morning with the construction of temporary diversions and clearance of landslides at different sections of the road.

Division Chief Suman Yogesh said that the diversion could not be constructed immediately due to the high level of the river at Chaukidanda of Roshi area. According to him, the diversion will be constructed again from the bank at Chaukidanda after the river level receded.

The flood in Roshi River swept away temporary diversions in Chaukidanda, Katunje, Piple and Mamti areas, as well as landslides at Daunne-Kalopul and Charsabesi. At present, one-way traffic has been allowed in the risky areas and work is underway to open the two-way traffic soon, according to the office. Construction of temporary diversions and clearing of landslides in various sections of the road started from Monday morning.
