KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the leaders of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) from the vice-president to the bottom of the party have been trained well.
Thapa said this while addressing the inaugural session of the party’s 15th general convention.
“Ravi Lamichhane has already raised an issue and said that many of the friends here have cast their votes,” he said, adding, “We have trained 40-50 friends not only the voters, but if you look inside the parliament, we have trained 40-50 friends.” So
We are not worried about it. It is not said in our party. From the deputy president of the RSP to the bottom of the party, we have trained many friends who went to the Congress stage yesterday to applaud. You have taught us very well. ”
He said that MPs should play an effective role in raising the voice of the people in Parliament, questioning the government and making policies. He said that the vote given by the people should be taken as a responsibility and not just as a basis to win elections.
Thapa said that the Congress should now come out of the politics of despair and criticism. He said that instead of criticizing on social media, blaming others or counting only the shortcomings of the past, the identity of the Congress should be established by its work and results.
“Let’s make a resolution that we will establish ourselves through our deeds and our identity, not by being disappointed and cynical,” he said.
He said that the future journey of the Congress should be connected with the people. He said that the Congress should move ahead in a way to strengthen the democratic culture within the party, listen to the people’s questions, address the expectations of the youth, create employment and give priority to economic development.
