KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that former President Sher Bahadur Deuba did not attend the party’s general convention even though his chair was kept vacant.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress (NC), Thapa raised questions about how many times the party leaders would go to receive Deuba and how to go.
“We had kept the chair vacant for former President Sher Bahadur Deuba. But he did not come. How many times will we go, how will we go to get it?” said Thapa.
Stating that some friends of the Congress have left the party, he said that they should now give a clear answer on whether they have left the party or not.
“Some friends have left. They have been left by the Congress. We have to say this too. We have to answer this now,” Thapa said.
Thapa indicated that with the new leadership, the Congress should move forward by making a clear review of the past issues. He said that everyone in the party should be included and a clear opinion should be made about the leaders who have left.
